Hello again residents of Miraland! I am back to ramble about my opinions on pretty outfits literally just because I can. I'm going to aim to update at least once a week, probably on Wednesdays, but maybe more if I feel up to it! There will be another update this Friday for sure!
I've decided that it might be fun to try to give a sort of rating system for how canon I feel particular outfits are to Nikki herself; based on my Canonicity Question List originally from my first post. Which as fun as this idea is, we're starting off pretty damn badly as I start going over the Resonances from 1.0 to present day.
So the way this is going to work, is that I'm going to rank the outfits' canonicity to me personally, on a scale of 1 to 5.
1 - This basically just exists in the compendium alone, not in Nikki's wardrobe
2 - There's background hints of story backing
3 - Reasonable to think that Nikki owns this
4 - Nikki probably owns this but not very blatantly
5 - Strong story backing, there's no doubt she has this outfit
Starting from 1.0's first Resonance Banners we have Blooming Fantasy and Butterfly Dream. Which considering none of the associated outfits have ever had any story spotlight, as I said we are starting off badly--

OKAY OKAY LET ME EXPLAIN
When I first got into Infinity Nikki I had the thought that I really wanted to collect all the ability outfits I could get, and Flutter Storm's banner came with Flowing Colors. So I pulled on the banner until I got the first version of Flowing Colors, and left the Resonance menu alone until the next banners came out.
However at the time of writing this, it is now version 1.8. Since that first run of Butterfly Dream, I got kinda tired of opening my glow up menu and seeing Flutter Storm, staring me in the face at 5 out of 9 pieces. So when it came back in late June 2025, and I had some diamonds to spare after tossing them at Enchanted Encounter; I decided to finally complete it. I mean, it is a gorgeous dress! I've always had a love for butterflies, so why wouldn't I want to own the pretty butterfly outfit? Even if my motivation mostly came out of it staring at me every time I opened the glow up screen.
Sadly it does go very against my whole thing though. Errr lets see real quick, what do the clothing pieces have to say in terms of lore...
Nothing that really ties it back to Nikki personally, in fact Kilo's commentary confirms it more as a story that happened to someone else. Sort of making it sound like this outfit is meant for someone else entirely.
(Side note, Dada's commentary has certainly come around in the story huh?)
Not even the makeup, the other outfit versions, or Momo's Cloak really lends anything to this being a dress Nikki owns. Kinda funny that the makeup is so mermaid themed for a butterfly outfit though, I will give it that. If I really wanted to stretch this, maybe you could relate this somehow back to the story of the frost mermaid Nishie, which to me counts as a canon outfit. But as I said that's reaaally stretching what's probably not intended to be a connection. Watch me eat my words later I'm sure.
But hey, I haven't actually used this outfit since I finally got all its pieces. So might as well do a quick photo before I officially drag the outfit.

Does this particularly seem like Nikki? Maybe, we do know now officially that she does have a bit of a real artistic background I suppose. But we have no confirmation on if this outfit is actually made for her / by her or not, even with the fitting pink hair.
Ranking: 1.5 / 5
~ Doesn't appear in the story, but has hints that you could argue make it a canon outfit.
Next up we have Blooming Dreams! Which I do not own, and honestly for a long time I forgot that it was an ability outfit. I legitimately thought that it was a pretty fairy outfit, the same way that Flutter Storm is a pretty butterfly outfit.
I'm not going to bother showing the outfit piece descriptions this time, as Blooming Dreams is basically 100% confirmed to be someone else's outfit. It's quite possibly personally inspired by the life that an author lead, it's implied that she took her experience and made it into a story involving a Flower Sprite. I feel like with the strange magical situation we witnessed regarding Lulukko, this outfit's story does hit a bit differently now than it did on launch.
However, story developments aside, it's still not a Nikki outfit to me.
These are from Blooming Dreams: Tides, and Blooming Dreams: Glow. It really largely seems to be based on an author existing in the world of Miraland already, no connection to Nikki. Maybe they only mean the emotional experience here, but we have no way to know how literal this is. No reason to think it has a place in Nikki's wardrobe right now regardless.

- Has lore that connects it to another character, possibly suggesting the outfit is supposed to be theirs
Sorry Blooming Dreams, I do think this outfit would be very funny to own alongside Enchanted Encounter though. Imagine floating down with Blooming Dreams, and then it disappears and you just become a fantasy princess fairy on the spot. Kind of hilarious to me, going from one fairy outfit to another like that.
Lastly for these two banners we have the 4 star Moment Capturer, which I again do not have. I also forgot this outfit was here, despite the fact it is pretty cute honestly.
Nothing in its lore makes a suggestion towards Nikki, though that is sort of your choice too. The whole thing with Stylists is that they can change their appearance on the fly, so a suggestion of red hair here doesn't mean it's not Nikki necessarily. But it is still a Resonance outfit, with no place in which its appeared in the story currently. I feel like if you want to consider this a Nikki outfit, much like Flowing Colors, it's kind of your own call.

At least she seems to be taking its lack of canonicity to her closet pretty well.
Kind of a downer start but these also were just the starting banners, it wasn't until the next set in which we started to get story tie-ins. I've already talked about them a little previously but it'll be fun to look at them more closely, maybe my previous verdict will change!
